Greater Piedmont Credit Union (GPCU) has proudly served its members and communities since 1977. Now, to ensure that GPCU members have access to the best financial services today and in the future, its board of directors has approved a merger with Self Help Credit Union. The merger has been approved by state and federal regulators and will be effective April 1, 2016
This merger will bring many benefits to both organizations. It enhances GPCU's financial stability and offers members a broader statewide branch network, additional products and services such as small business loans and mobile check deposit. It expands Self Help Credit Unions presence in Durham and the Charlotte area. And it brings together two organizations with similar values, culture, mission and dedication to its members.
Over the next few months, we will be sending you more information about your account, and working to seamlessly move your accounts into the Self Help CU systems. Once the changes are complete, we will operate under the Self Help Credit Union name.
Finally, rest assured that even though we have merged, your deposits continue to be insured by NCUSIF up to $250,000.00.
Thank you for your past support of GPCU; we look forward to serving you in even more ways in the future. If you have any questions about this change, please do not hesitate to ask any staff
